Bea Pecsi

Bea is an official City of Westminster Guide who fell in love with London in the 1990s when she moved here to study. Although she was born and raised on the Continent, she grew up devouring British classics (from Peter Pan, Oliver Twist and Adrian Mole to Lord of the Flies and Frankenstein), a passion she still has and what led to earning a degree in English Literature besides Library Science and Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Having worked as a teacher and tutor for more than two decades, one of her specialities is highlight tours for kids and families, tailored to their energy levels and interests, making sure that everyone has fun while learning about the hidden secrets and history of our wonderful city. Being an experienced TEFL teacher, her English language tours are recommended to English language learners who would like to practise their skills with a guide who is also a qualified teacher.

As a native Hungarian and a former Budapest tour guide, Bea is constantly in search of connections between London and her native country’s culture and history. Her Hungarian theme walk, ‘Széchenyi nyomában Londonban’ (In the Footsteps of Széchenyi in London), discovers how early 19-century London influenced ‘the greatest Hungarian’ and through him the history of Hungary as well.

She is a member of the City of Westminster Guide Lecturers Association (CWGLA).
